During the movement of the ball screw, there is high-speed rolling and sliding friction between the ball and the screw, which will produce friction heat and wear. If these problems are not solved effectively, the service life of ball screw will be shortened, and even failures such as jamming, noise and vibration will be caused. Lubricating the ball screw can reduce friction and wear, protect the normal operation of the ball screw and prolong its service life.

1. Grease lubrication: grease is a commonly used lubricating material, which is suitable for ball screws in low speed, medium and high load and closed environment. Choosing proper grease can effectively reduce friction and wear and provide good sealing protection. In application, it is necessary to pay attention to the selection of appropriate grease types and brands to ensure its high temperature resistance, compression resistance and long-term use.

2. Oil lubrication: oil lubrication is suitable for high-speed and high-precision ball screws. Compared with grease, oil lubrication has better heat dissipation and fluidity, and can effectively reduce friction and wear when moving at high speed. However, it should be noted that when using oil lubrication, measures must be taken, such as providing an oil seal to prevent oil lubricant from leaking out.

3. Solid lubrication: solid lubrication mainly reduces friction and wear by forming a lubricating film on the surface of the ball screw. This lubrication method is suitable for high temperature, high vacuum and oil-free environment. Common solid lubricants include solid lubricating films, ceramic coatings and nano-lubricating materials.
